Rose & Mews was born from a simple, maddening observation: the women shopping the UK high street are not the women the high street designs for. You are 35, 42, 51 years old. You have a career, a social calendar, and a body that has evolved beautifully; yet every boutique seems to offer you either a crop top or a cardigan from 1992.
Our founders came from the world of bespoke tailoring and high-end design. They watched as fast-fashion brands enlarged their size-6 sample patterns mechanically, adding centimetres without any regard for real biomechanics. The result is everywhere: armholes that gape, waists that sit in the wrong place, hemlines that stop mid-thigh when they should grace the knee.
They left that world to create something new. Rose & Mews is named after the hidden mews lanes of London; those quiet, craft-focused streets where artisans worked with precision and pride. That is the spirit we carry into every dress we make.

Every Rose & Mews size is graded independently from scratch, informed by anthropometric data of real women aged 35 to 55. Not digital avatars. Not student mannequins. Real bodies, real proportions, real life.
01 — Independent Pattern Making Each size, from 8 through 22, begins with its own unique pattern; never a mechanical enlargement. Torso depth, shoulder width, and bust architecture are recalculated per size.
02 — Proportional Seam Architecture Waist placement, side seam curve, and dart positioning are adjusted to follow the natural silhouette of a mature figure — not a scaled-up teenager's body.
03 — Natural Fabric First We work in linen, organic cotton, and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose; fabrics that breathe, drape beautifully, and improve with every wash. No synthetic tat.
